Responsibilities
- Utilize expertise in Data Platform technologies and product understanding to address high-scale, high-impact, and data-centric use cases for various product and engineering teams.
- Work closely with Software Engineers and ML Engineers to develop Data platform abstractions meeting the needs of multiple teams, systems, and products.
- Tasked with optimizing data delivery and establishing infrastructure for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading across a diverse range of use cases, utilizing SQL/Spark.
- Actively participate in cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless collaboration throughout the software development life cycle with a focus on continuous delivery.
- Provide adept support for hyper-growth systems spanning various geographies and regions.
Requirements
- Possess strong programming skills in one or more of the following languages: Java, Scala, Go, Python.
- Essential hands-on experience with the AWS (or similar Cloud) stack, including S3, EMR, and RDS.
- A solid understanding and practical experience with high-scale Data lakehouse systems are crucial.
- Proficiency in Big Data technologies such as Apache Spark, SQL, Hadoop, Hive, Airflow, Kafka, and Kafka Connects.
- Good grasp of database and data storage fundamentals, including familiarity with at least one columnar data storage format like Parquet.
- Prior experience in building Data products is highly beneficial.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills are imperative, enabling you to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment.
