Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify complex business challenges and convert them into data-driven solutions.
- Address various Machine Learning sub-problems affecting different aspects of Grofers’ demand and supply systems.
- Translate business procedures into mathematical models.
- Prioritize issues within Grofers’ supply chain to reduce costs and enhance efficiency, or focus on increasing revenue and conversion rates on the demand side.
- Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and represent Blinkit at conferences.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field with 6 years of relevant experience.
- Strong mathematical foundation encompassing Linear Algebra, Probability Theory, Statistical Modeling, Analysis of Variance, Convex Optimization, Hypothesis Testing, Data Structures, and Multivariate Calculus.
- Hands-on expertise in supervised machine learning techniques such as Decision Trees, Random Forests, Support Vector Machines, Neural Networks, and Time Series analysis.
- Proficiency in unsupervised learning and feature engineering methods like Principal Component Analysis, Clustering, Word2Vec, and One-Hot-Encoding.
- Proficiency in at least one Data Science Language (Python, R, MATLAB, or Octave).
- Solid understanding of Database System Concepts and working knowledge of at least one database (SQL or NoSQL).
- Experience with big data tools like Spark and Hadoop is advantageous.
- Additional domain knowledge in Supply Chain including concepts like Queuing Theory, Inventory Management, Warehouse Layout Design, Forecasting Techniques, Genetic Algorithms, Game Theory, and Simulated Annealing is beneficial.
