DataOps Engineer Responsibilities
- Deploy MySQL instances in both clustered and non-clustered setups to cater to various workload requirements.
- Guarantee optimal performance, security, and availability for databases across the infrastructure.
- Execute routine database tasks including upgrades, backups, recoveries, and migrations to maintain data integrity and accessibility.
- Profile server resources to identify bottlenecks, optimize configurations, and fine-tune performance for enhanced efficiency.
- Independently initiate tasks and effectively collaborate with multiple teams to ensure seamless communication and alignment of database operations with organizational objectives.
Requirements
- Proficient in MySQL 5.x database administration, with significant experience in recent MySQL versions.
- Comprehensive understanding and practical knowledge of MySQL’s storage engines, including InnoDB and MyISAM.
- Skilled in tuning MySQL parameters to optimize database performance.
- Capable of administering MySQL databases and proficient in monitoring performance metrics.
- Experienced in configuring and troubleshooting master-master replication in MySQL.
- Expertise in writing complex queries, stored procedures, triggers, and utilizing the event scheduler in MySQL.
- Strong Linux shell scripting abilities, along with robust Unix/Shell scripting skills.
- Familiarity with other SQL/NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, enhancing versatility in database management.
- Proficient in installing, deploying, and managing MongoDB across various environments, including physical, virtual, and AWS EC2 instances.
- Experienced in setting up MongoDB Active-Active sharded clusters to ensure high availability.
- Skilled in administering MongoDB on the Linux platform, ensuring smooth operation and maintenance.
- Expertise in performing MongoDB version upgrades, particularly from version 4.0 to 4.4, with minimal application downtime, utilizing either ops manager or custom scripts.
- Thorough understanding and practical experience in MongoDB sharding and the implementation of Disaster Recovery Plans.
