Financial Analyst Job Responsibility
- Manage annual and continual financial planning for product areas.
- Provide business rationale for month-end financial performance and forecasting decisions.
- Conduct reviews and analysis on product financial performance, consumption/demand planning, budgeting, billing, trends, and exception reports.
- Implement efficiency reporting, analytics, and strategy, including location strategy and span of control.
- Create financial business cases for supporting business initiatives.
- Report on and monitor key metrics, drive data quality initiatives, and define future needs of the product area.
- Develop and track performance metrics, create presentations, and provide financial analysis to senior management.
- Perform variance analysis, explaining changes from prior forecasts/budgets, and present commentary to senior managers.
- Design new reports and dashboards for efficient delivery of financial results to senior management.
- Enhance controls and streamline processes, introducing automation where possible.
Financial Analyst Job Skills Required
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a technically related subject.
- Accumulate 3+ years of work experience, preferably in Financial Services, with a background in accounting or controlling.
- Demonstrate advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Possess proficiency in data mining, gathering, and manipulation of data sets.
- Exhibit inquisitive, enthusiastic, and diligent qualities, capable of challenging peers.
- Showcase strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly.
- Have the ability to create ad hoc reporting for senior management.
- Demonstrate a proven track record for executing special projects/assignments, often with little lead time or information.
