Software Engineer Responsibilities
- Craft code for product or system development.
- Engage in or take charge of design evaluations with colleagues and stakeholders to make informed decisions on technology choices.
- Examine code produced by fellow developers, offering constructive feedback to ensure adherence to best practices such as style guidelines, code integrity, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.
- Enhance existing documentation or educational materials, adjusting content to reflect product/program changes and user input.
- Evaluate and prioritize product or system issues, and troubleshoot/track/resolve them by analyzing the root causes and assessing their impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
Minimum qualifications:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree or possess equivalent practical experience.
- Possess one year of hands-on experience in software development using one or more programming languages, such as Python, C, C++, Java, or JavaScript.
Preferred qualifications:
- Hold an advanced degree, either a Master’s or PhD, in Computer Science or a closely related technical field.
- Hands-on experience in creating technologies with accessibility considerations.
- Have practical experience in one or more of the following: web or mobile application development, Unix/Linux environments, distributed and parallel systems, machine learning, information retrieval, natural language processing, networking, software systems development, or security software development.
